Living Uniquely

There's something true about living as the unique being you were created to be. And sometimes, getting off track happens so naturally - so little by little, that you don't even know it's happening until something or someone comes along and reminds you a bit of the person you were before.

You know, maybe reality and the place God becomes real in your life is when you are being that person you were created to be and following Jesus at the same time. It's not being the person you were taught to be, nor the person other people want you to be. It's living out your true self, uniquely reflecting the face of God. And maybe the reason I've had such a hard time finding God in reality, is because I'm not being that person.

This probably sounds very "me" centered again. But, in fact, I think it's something that actually frees us from the "me" factor. If we're looking to become more and more the person Christ re-created in us, there can be a joy over the gifts we've been given, without the pride. So it's also accepting the fact that the person you were created to be is a gift to you - and ultimately others.

This is no "God's gift to women" thing. I have been blessed by people who lived out a portion of who they were created to be. Their act of being true to themselves before other people, bless and inspire others. It's just that way.
